Friday Night Lights

Okay, so maybe our local high school is not as intense as the Friday Night Lights you see on TV, but I still enjoy going to the high school games!!! Probably not the same reasons as everybody else, but I still enjoy going!

I love to go to watch my brother-in-law, Chace, play...even though I have a hard time keeping up where he is!...

I love to dress the kids up in their blue and white clothes...

I love to dwell on the kids that I have taught in previous years...they are growing up way to fast!...

I love to people watch...

I love to see the community come together...

And I get to see Cody's Aunt Cindy and Uncle Alan more than usual!!!

The kids also love going to the game but for other reasons...

Cailey loves to get candy from the concession stands with her Grandma Margie...

She loves to give the husky dog high fives...

She loves to go up and down the bleachers with her best friend Cameron Brown...

She loves to see her favorite babysitter, Mel, and hang out with her and the "big" kids

Cayden loves to get candy from the concession stands with his Grandma Margie...

He loves to go back and forth from his Grandpa Fred to his Grandma Margie...

He loves to go up and down on the bleachers with his best friend Tucker Brown... 

He love to hide from the Husky Dog because he is afraid of him!!!

Arrival of a lifetime

On Tuesday, September 21st, a report of a helicopter landed at a residence, a man got out, and the helicopter left...

The real story....

Cody became friends with a pilot, he is contracted out with the Forest Service for forest fires. The contract was up and the guy, Kevin (who is a super nice man), was moving out. He had to take the helicopter out and then go back up to Cascade and get his truck and trailer. When he came out on Tuesday he was nice enough to give Cody a ride back home, in return we gave him a place to stay for the night and Cody's mom was nice enough to give both the guys a ride back up at 4:30 in the morning.

The excitement at our house went like this:

Me: Look there is a helicopter

Kids: Cool!!!

Cailey Mae: Look, it is coming back to Casey's house!

Cailey Mae: AHHHHH!!! it is coming to our house!!!

Me: IT'S DADDY!!!IT'S DADDY!!!

Kids: DADDY???????

Cayden: Where is daddy???

Me: in the helicopter!!!

Cayden: Where????

About that time we were all freaking  out a little bit because the helicopter landed literally in the backyard! We had to take cover because of the flying dust and gravel. Cailey flew under the porch swing and Cayden hid behind my legs! I was so excited! It was soooooo cool to see Cody getting out of the helicopter. The kids thought their daddy was some kind of super hero! The feeling I felt that night for the kids was unexplainable!!! They were so excited!

I hope they will remember that night forever.

That night I had phone calls from neighbors I never talk to...they though life flight was landing at our house. Cody felt like a celebrity!

And the helicopter is back off!!!

Fair Time

We love fair time around here! The kids love to go look at all the animals and dream and ponder on all the animals they want to have around the house (even though, that will probably never happen...sorry bunnies)...We spent 3 or 4 hours down at the fair watching Tanner and Shelby show their sheep. I am so proud of Tanner and Shelby. This was Tanner's first year and he did wonderful! Poor Shelby, her sheep got sick and died the day before she was supposed to sell hers.

Summer is almost over as I know it!

I hope Cailey can always love summer and think of her summer like this!!!

I have a week left until summer break is over and school starts. It is always hard for me to say goodbye to summer and hello to fall/school starting! Even though I am looking forward to routine again in my life and bedtimes that are actually early. I love being home with the kids all day and going to the swimming pool, dam, or whatever else life may bring us! I am dreading getting up at the same time everyday, the consent rush and chaos that every morning brings us, the extra cost of daycare and preschool. But for this week I am going to take it for what it is worth.

Monday: Roaring Springs...LOVE IT!!! If I lived closer I would have season passes and go probably everyday! I love following the kids around and getting a great tan! When they are older, I can see myself laying out in a chair (reading a trashy novel) while they check back in with me every so often.

Cailey loved the water slides! Her favorite slide is the yellow fast slide.

Cayden was not sure about the slides...he was much happier just hanging out!

What is on my list?

The Boise Zoo, the Discover Center, the Dam, the city pool, and I would like to do the paddle boats too...

all in a weeeks time! Ugh

life is so unpredictable!!!

This is a little old, but in July we had a scare with my nephew James. He was with the babysitter for the day and she had thought he choked on a pretzel. He went completely limp, eyes rolled back into his head, and foamed at the mouth. She thought he was dead at the arrival of the Emmett hospital. The hospital (good ol' Emmett hospital) did X-rays and could not find the pretzel in him and were not too sure what was going on so they life-flighted him. SCARY...I was so amazed at how brave my sister was. I would have been a total mess!

At the pediatric ICU of St. Lukes they came to the conclusion of a temperature induced seizure. They are not sure if he will ever have one again or if it was a one time deal.

I am so thankful that the babysitter had him and not me. I would have freaked out! She is the best babysitter ever and I am so thankful that she is our babysitter too!

As for James, he is fine! He almost seemed fine before they life flighted him. But what do you do? Take the risk and drive him yourself to Boise and then have something horrible happen and you never forgive yourself again? Or take the blow and life flight him? I would have done the same for my kids.

Like I said, life is so unpredictable you think finally when they are pass 1 year that they are fine! But so untrue! I think it is probably just the beginning.

Oh me, Oh my, I have turned 29!!!

It is official, I am in my last ending stretch of my 20s. As of now I am not too upset or nervous or whatever else one might be. I am kind of amazed that I am getting older though  because I still feel at times that I am still the little tag along snot nosed sister! Oh wait, I still kind of am!

While I was at the fair this year I was looking around and thinking about all the little tweens running around and chasing after the boys and thought "Wow I remember doing that and passing by the beer booth and thinking how old those people were!" Guess what I am one of those old people now!" Funny to think.

Anymore age really is not that important.

                                I can actually rent a car now...that is if we ever went anywhere to rent one!

I can drink and gamble...once again, if we went anywhere to do that

                              What else is there to be looking forward to???? Any thoughts?

Not again, Cayden!!!

Cayden, my poor boy! It is going to be a miracle if he is left with any brain cells by the time he enters school! He hits his poor head daily on something or another!

Today I went to wash his face and he totally freaked out on me and ran into the other room. He continued to run right into the corner of a wall. I sure hope the fit was worth it!
